Lisa Maria at Sit Means Sit has been a life saver. We don’t know what we would of done with our dog Wellington. She has given us the knowledge and her expertise to help us train our puppy. With a short time we have seen a tremendous improvements. I know we still have a ways to go, but with Lisa Marie’s help I am sure our puppy nightmares will be over. Our dog Lucy (4yo pit mix) is extremely fearful and reactive. We brought her to Lisa Marie after a bite incident with a neighbor when we were at the end of our rope.Lucy is a rescue with a traumatic past and she is afraid of everything (strangers, loud noises, things with wheels, the dark, her brush, people carrying things, even birthday candles!). This causes her to react aggressively to try to protect herself. Because of her breed, many people aren’t willing to see the good in our girl or give her the benefit of the doubt. They don’t see her silly faces, the kisses she showers on the people she loves, her perfect comedic timing, or the way she fishes my socks out of the laundry to snuggle them when she misses me. She’s a good girl. She’s just complicated. At our first meeting, Lucy was unhinged, barking and growling and lunging with every move Lisa made. After about an hour with her in her own home, Lisa was able to take Lucy’s muzzle off and work with her safely. So far we’ve had one full day training and 3 1 hour lessons and Lucy is thriving. She’s not as fearful, goes calmly into her crate, has learned “quiet” and “place” and is making really good progress with loose leash walking. We still have a long way to go, but I feel better knowing that my puppy girl has a chance to live a life with less fear while keeping our community safe as well. Lisa has done great work with my baby and we are so grateful.

Sit Means Sit Long Beach is an amazing! We have our one year old Husky in training with them and they have worked wonders in a very short period of time. Our Husky is very stubborn and has zero recall when we started, but after just one lesson, she now comes when called without a problem and even if there are big distractions. We cannot thank Sit Means Sit Long Beach enough for their help! We highly recommend this trainer to anyone looking to see actual results from their dog training.

It has been a pleasure working alongside Lisa Marie in training our dog, Maggie. You can tell she really enjoys her job and takes pride in what she does. There were a couple of times when I mixed up the schedule and ran late, she was very accommodating and gracious both times. I brought my puppy in for an evaluation and enrolled her in Sit Means Sit for basic obedience training. Lisa-Marie was helpful in letting me and my partner know what we were getting ourselves into, what to expect, and what we needed to do at home to set our pup for success. The classes and private lessons really shaped our dog to follow directions and correct habits in our home. I would definitely recommend Sit Means Sit to friends and family.

Our foster dog was not named ‘Sparkle’ for nothing. She loves every human alive and demonstrates it by wildly leaping all over them. She’s 60 lbs of blondness who deposits her wavy fur till she’s satisfied her new friends are amply covered. More distressingly, our friends think it’s funny and affectionate. We think it’s insane.

Sparkle is true misery at the end of a leash; she pulls, jaywalks and trips us whenever she feels like it. I have a closet full of collars that have not worked–choke, prong, Martingale, Halti; you name it, she’s defeated it.

I contacted the irresistibly named “Sit Means Sit”, visually imagining Sparkle privately snickering at the title because Sit does not mean Sit to her–but Lisa Marie had other plans. Without giving her secrets away, I will only mention Lisa Marie’s patience and ability to reflect on what Sparkle is doing, and why. (No, it’s not trying to drive us blindingly insane so she can inherit our house and cars. It’s even more diabolical.)

After a few short weeks, Sparkle now walks on a leash without enfeebling our arms by pulling them out of the sockets. When friends come over, Sparkle, though still ecstatic to see them, no longer jumps so enthusiastically she has to literally be peeled off their bodies. Whatever Lisa Marie does has toned down her overly jealous reactions. She still sparkles, but she no longer leaps and clings by putting her arms around her victim’s waist, or comes dangerously close to shattering human limbs.

I’m happy, her dad’s happy and Sparkle’s happy because she doesn’t get yelled at any more and Lisa Marie must be very happy indeed to have successfully tamed a monstrous beast into a well-behaved dog.

We are currently utilizing Sit Means Sit to assist us with training our three year old male Pomeranian. Lisa-Marie and her partner are very professional and thorough in their directions with Oso which we greatly appreciate. Oso was not very disciplined but after his first session he showed great improvement in his behavior. In our second session today Oso was very attentive and responded to commands very well.
